Update on ordering GI style dogtags

As I announced at the squadron last night, please let me know if you want a set of GI style dogtags no later than next Tuesday.  The cost is $10.00 per set, paid in advance.  I will need your full name, including middle initial, CAP ID number, and member status (senior or cadet).  If everyone in the squadron orders a set, added to a few orders I have received from outside of the squadron, we should be able to add about $100.00 to our squadron account.

Below are links to a couple of great news stories I read this morning.  I hope you find them interesting, too!

Two Items of Interest

How many cadets and senior members would be willing to pay $10.00 for a set of two military style dog tags, with a necklace chain, a short chain, and two rubber silencers?  You can find them yourself on the Internet for between $5.00 and $15.00 per set, but if we can agree to order at least fifteen sets I can negotiate a good rate and, hopefully, have a contribution for the squadron's fund of between $80.00 and $100.00.

NERPA505 Update

Hello, 550!  I hope everyone is enjoying a great weekend!

(1) Tuesday is Emergency Services emphasis.  The uniform of the day is BDUs.  Weather permitting, we will dismiss to practice some search lines, search techniques, etc., and do some drill and PT.
(2) We have been given two more opportunities to appear at events.  The first is at the WWII reenactment of the capture of the Remagen Bridge by the  U.S. 9th Armored Division on 7 March 1945, at Tidioute on 7 Aug., and the second is in the Youngsville Cornfest parade (and to help with traffic if we have enough people) on 21 Aug.  Please inform Capt Hagberg or me if you will be available.
(3) 2 Lt. Fuller has also said that he will offer testing to those who are ready if time is available.

Semper Vigilans!    See you Tuesday, and don't forget to bring a friend!  Stand tall, and be proud of who you are and what you do in CAP!

NERPA505 Update

Happy 4th, 505! I hope all of you took some time to reflect on the blessing that it is to live in "the land of the free, and the home of the brave," and how worthwhile it is to preserve and protect our God given liberties. A big THANKS to those who were available to participate in the Warren 4th of July Parade. You did a great job! I'll try to post some photos on the squadron blog soon.

(1) Tuesday is Testing Night. Please be sure you are ready to take your next test. The uniform of the day is BDUs. PT testing will also be offered for those who need it. Bring appropriate clothing for exercise and running. (2) Tuesday is also monthly Safety Briefing night.
(3) The FTX at Heart's Content, originally scheduled for 19-20 Jun, has been rescheduled for 24 Jul. Please inform me or Capt. Hagberg if you wish to attend.
(4) Maj. Fleming has offered an invitation to a summer Group 6 picnic on 24 Jul. A poster is attached.

Semper Vigilans! See you Tuesday - and don't forget to bring a friend! Be proud of who you are and what you do in CAP!
