NERPA505 Update

Hello 505!  Here's hoping everyone enjoyed a fun and safe weekend!  Best wishes to all of our cadets who are beginning a new school year!  Remember, school season is Recruiting Season!  Always carry some recruiting literature with you.

(1) This coming squadron is a fifth Tuesday "Casual Day"!  Dress for the meeting is "civvies" (civilian clothes).  Senior members will provides refreshments and food.  Bring footballs, soccer balls, frisbees, etc. We'll plan to meet at our regular location, then dismiss to a park.
(2) Plan ahead!  Squadron 503 is planning to host a SAREX for the weekend of 25-26 September-2010. The SAREX will be held at Capt. Conrad Shearer's house in Cambridge Springs.  Please inform Capt. Hagberg or Chaplain Matheny if you plan to attend.

NERPA505

Greetings 505!  I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.  School is getting ready to start, so drivers need to be aware or children walking and bicycling to school, and of school buses.

Please be sure you attend a safety briefing at the squadron, or take the on line safety briefing in eServices as soon as possible in September.  Keep track of when you are due for a quarterly face-to-face safety briefing.

(1) Commanders Call scheduled for 28 Aug. has been postponed due to a mandatory safety down day for pilots, OICs and  maintenance chiefs at State College on the same date.  See the PA Wing email for details.
(2) This coming Tuesday is Aerospace Education emphasis.  The uniform of the day is BDUs.
(3) 2 Lt. Fuller will be available for cadets who are ready to test.
(4) Next Tuesday, 31 Aug. is a fifth Tuesday "casual day."  More information will be shared at the Tuesday meeting and in next week's update.

NERPA505 Update

Hello 505!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and got to enjoy some of the County Fair last week!

(1) Tuesday night's emphasis will be Character Development and Emergency Services.  (ES will be brief to allow for Color Guard Practice.)  The uniform of the day is BDUs.
(2) Plan ahead if you want to attend the Group Six Commander's Call and Cadet Advisory Council meeting on 28 August.  Command staff and Cadet Advisory Council members are expected to attend.
(3) Reminder - the 505 Color Guard will be needed to march in the Youngsville Cornfest Parade on 21 August.  Please plan ahead and let Capt. Hagberg or C/2Lt. Matheny know if you plan to attend.  The Color Guard should be prepared for a period of practice.

Senior member Pat Farrell and Cadet Dillon Farrel have chosen not to renew their membership this year.  Pat says that he is very busy with his work and other projects, but hopes to get involved again in CAP in the future.  Dillon is enrolled as a freshmen at Penn State this fall.  Thanks, Pat and Dillon, for the contributions you both made to the squadron while you were with us!  We appreciate both of you and wish you the very best in all that you do!

NERPA505 Update

Greetings, 505!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Congratulations are in order for two cadets.  Cadet Blake Montour completed the Hap Arnold achievement and was promoted to Cadet Airman First Class.  Cadet Daniel Hagberg completed the Charles Lindbergh achievement and was promoted to Cadet Master Sergeant.  Great job cadets!  Keep up the good work!

(1) By order of Capt. Hagberg, the squadron meeting scheduled for 10 August has been canceled due to the unavailability of most of the squadron. The next scheduled meeting will be 17 August.  The emphasis will be Character Development and Emergency Services.
(2) Plan ahead if you want to attend the Group Six Commander's Call and Cadet Advisory Council meeting on 28 August.  Command staff and Cadet Advisory Council members are expected to attend.
(3) Reminder - the 505 Color Guard will be needed to march in the Youngsville Cornfest Parade on 21 August.  Please plan ahead!
(4) Senior members or cadets who can assist the Warren County Fire Police at traffic barricades on Saturday, 21 Aug., please inform Chaplain Matheny as soon as possible.  I would like to have about half a dozen people to help with traffic control during the parade, if possible.  We will be released as soon as the parade is over and normal traffic resumes.
