NERPA505 Update

Hello, 505! Here are the updates for this week. Congratulations are again in order for the following cadets: Jason Peterson, for fulfilling the requirements for the Wright Brothers Achievement and promotion to C/SSgt. Bryan Johnson III, for fulfilling the requirements of the General Hap Arnold Achievement and promotion to C/A1C. Natalie Peterson, for the fulfilling the requirements of the General Hap Arnold Achievement and promotion to C/A1C. Austin Confer, for fulfilling the requirements for the General John F. Curry Achievement and promotion to C/Amn. Great job, cadets! Keep up the good work!

(1) Tuesday is Character Development emphasis and leadership night. Don't forget to bring your "Flight Logs." The uniform of the day is Class B blues for cadets who have them, BDUs for those who do not have blues. Blues or Corporate uniform for senior members.
(2) Cadet Basic Encampment and Cadet Leadership School: 505 plans to send four cadets to Fort Indiantown Gap for Enc. and CLS, including C/2 Lt. Matheny, C/TSgt. Matheny, C/TSgt. Hagberg, and C/A1C Peterson. Time is running out to be sure you are prepared to go! If you have any questions, now is the time to ask them. The source for information on both is: http://www.pawgcls.org/.
(3) For Senior Members and Cadets who are not going to the Basic Encampment: An FTX is planned at Hearts Content on 19-20 Jun (staying over the 18th and 19th) to practice compass navigation, GPS navigation, and orienteering. See last week's announcements on the squadron blog for additional information.
(4) Safety reminder: Every CAP member, regardless of class of membership, must complete a monthly safety briefing, either online via their eServices account, or in person, in order to participate in CAP activities. Additionally, all members must be present at one face-to-face safety briefing per quarter. Although safety is briefed and emphasized at every meeting, 505's monthly "face-to-face safety briefing" is always on the first Tuesday of each month.
(5) We are registered to march in the 4th of July parade in Warren, Saturday, 3 Jul. The uniform will be Class B blues for cadets, with tie. Uniforms need to be complete and appearance needs to meet CAP regulations. There is plenty of time to get squared away, but don't wait until the last minute! Some uniform items may be available at the squadron.

Semper Vigilans! Be proud of who you are and what you do in CAP!

See you Tuesday, and don't forget to invite a friend!
