NERPA505 Update for the Week of 3 Oct 2010

Hello 505!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you are enjoying the beautiful Fall colors!

(1) Tuesday is our annual "Safety Down Day."  The emphasis will be primarily on safety, including annual required ORM for all active members.  It is important that all active members be present if at all possible.  If not, the ORM and safety training will need to be made up.  The uniform of the day is BDUs.
(2) The PA Wing Conference is less than two weeks away.  Group 6 always has a good representation so I hope all members from 505 who can go will make plans to attend.
(3) There will be a Skywarn Winter Weather Storm Spotter class, sponsored by the Chataqua County Amateur FM Association on 25 Oct. at 19:03 hrs.  Cadets or senior members who would like to attend please inform Ch. Matheny.
(4) There will be a Aerospace Education workshop for senior members and cadets, hosted by Squadron 123, at the New Castle National Guard Armory on 30 Oct.  There are numerous classes, demonstrations, and possibly a rocket launch planned.  Please inform Capt. Hagberg or Ch. Matheny if you would like to attend.  We need to be registered no later than 27 Oct.
(5) Squadron 503 plans to host a Survival Training Weekend on 13-14 Nov.  Members who are interested should inform Capt. Hagberg or Ch. Matheny.

Remember: 26 Oct. is our Fall Open House!  There will be invitation fliers available during the squadron meeting and a PDF copy will be posted on the squadron blog.  The Open House is the centerpiece of our Fall recruiting drive, so all of us should be inviting as many people as we can and showing them how enthusiastic we are about our unique service to our community, state nation!

Semper Vigilans!    See you Tuesday, and don't forget to invite a friend!  Be proud of who you are and what you do in CAP!
