NERPA505 Update

I apologize for the first incomplete update.  My email program occasionally sends a message prematurely.  One of these days I'll figure out why.  We'll try again.

Greetings!  I hope each of you had a great weekend!  Did you go to Winterfest this year?  It was one of the best that I have ever attended!

This will be another short update.
(1) Tuesday night is Aerospace Education emphasis night.  We will cover a chapter in Aerospace Dimensions with slide show.  The uniform of the day is BDUs.
(2) a BIG THANK YOU to Lt. Hagberg, C/MSgt Matheny, and C/AB James for working with me at Winterfest this year.  Everyone did a great job and were highly complimented by the organizers.  We have already been asked back next year.  Anytime we can provide such a service to our community is good for the squadron as well as the community.
(3) Congratulations to Jason Peterson for submitting his application for CAP membership last week!  It will be great to have you with 505, Jason!  Jason has been attending meetings regularly for the past several weeks.
(4) Don't forget to sign off on the Monthly Safety Briefing posted on the bulletin board.  I enter your name and CAP ID number in the PA Wing database when you are in compliance with safety, so everybody at Wing knows who is not in compliance.
(5) If you need testing, it will be made available.  Cadets who take CAP seriously can advance about every 60 days.  Those who don't eventually get left behind and ultimately drop out.  Every one of you is important to us and we want you to stay involved!  Don't worry if you've gotten behind, we can help you get back on track.

See you Tuesday!  Semper Vigilans!

Randall F. Matheny, 2 Lt.
Deputy Commander for Cadets
