NERPA505 Update for the week of 20 Mar 11

Hello, 505!  Spring is finally here, so we can start looking forward to a period of great activities and learning experiences.  Keep an eye on the "dates to remember" at the bottom of the update.

It's great to see the squadron growing again after a bit of a "flat spell".  The senior staff is maturing well, and the new and veteran cadets are working great together.  This is an excellent compliment on the quality and character of 505!  Thanks to everyone for your positive attitudes and commitment to CAP Core Values!

(1) The emphasis item for Tuesday evening will be "Leadership."  The uniform of the day is USAF style Class B blues for those who have them, and BDUs for the remainder.  Each member is responsible for making sure the uniform that they wear is complete.
(2) The flight simulator will be available as an additional aerospace opportunity.  Lt. Fuller will be in charge.
(3) Time will also be made available for drill.
(4) Dates to remember:
  • 30 Apr 11, PA Wing Cadet Conference & PA Wing Commanders Call, Fort Indiantown Gap.  Cadets and senior members must register (cost $25.00 also covers light breakfast and Cadet Dining In - senior members are also encouraged to attend to support the cadets) at http://pawgcadetprograms.webs.com.
  • 30 Apr-8 May, PA Wing Aircrew Mission School.
  • 18-25 Jun 11, Basic Cadet Encampment & Cadet Leadership School, Fort Indiantown Gap.
CAP in the news:  Civil Air Patrol crashes at Puyallup; pilots unhurt ; No injuries in South Hill plane crash (also a CAP aircraft) ; County responds to tsunami threat (Hawaii)

Semper Vigilans!    See you Tuesday, and don't forget to invite a friend!  Be proud of who you are and what you do in CAP!
